LVEF programs are designed to fund innovative, quality, educational opportunities for students K-12 and teachers in public school districts. LVEF believes that quality school districts provide the basics students need, and offer a variety of enrichment opportunities which provide experiences that will lead to successful futures academically, professionally, and personally. The LVEF provides funding at the district, site, and classroom levels. The LVEF operates a high school Summer School program for public school districts. In 2010 the program became WASC accredited.
LVEF works closely with the school district to identify the most vulnerable programs and services due to budget cuts and enrichment opportunities for students. Over the past five years, LVEF has funded teacher professional development, the BTSA program in support of the newly hired teachers throughout the district, four sections at the high schools to help maintain the supervision of extra-curricular programs, the Arts K-12, and the Technology Plan consultant who created a comprehensive technology plan for the district. LVEF also offers all LVUSD families in grades 8-12 a free college application and acceptance program (CAAP) designed to assist families in finding, applying to, and paying for college.Through its expanded WASC Accredited Summer School Program, LVEF has also funded robotics and other science programs, teacher professional development, Technology, STEM programs, and 21st Century Learning Skills, Professional Pathways-to assist student in preparing for careers in a variety of fields, and Art Programs K-12.
During the 2013-14 school year, LVEF will be offering sustainable revenue programs to the PFA/Cs to help meet the demands and needs of their school sites.
